Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) Industry Engagement - April 17, 2025

PSDC Engages with FMM Johor to Strengthen Johor’s Talent Development

The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Johor recently hosted the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) in an industry engagement session aimed at gathering valuable feedback from members and industry players on the state’s evolving talent development needs.

This initiative follows Johor Corporation’s appointment of PSDC to lead the transformation of Johor Skills, aligning workforce development efforts with the demands of industries in the state.

During the session, PSDC shared insights on the Penang Chip Design Academy (PCDA)—a flagship initiative under the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS)—which focuses on cultivating talent in Integrated Circuit (IC) Design through upskilling, reskilling, and practical training.

The engagement concluded with a networking and feedback session involving PSDC, Johor Skills, and FMM members. These exchanges are crucial in shaping future training directions and fostering collaboration to ensure Johor’s talent ecosystem remains competitive and industry-ready.
