FMM Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Branch Safety Training: Emergency Readiness and Preparedness
INTRODUCTION
In the event of an emergency individual may panic or over-react. As such, early actions should be taken to address the crisis. These actions shall be undertaken by a trained Emergency Response Team (ERT). The ERT is the first responder to the crisis while waiting for external emergency service providers like Bomba. The management shall ensure the ERT is on alert at all times for all types of emergencies.
SPEAKER PROFILE (Mr Chan Tein Kee)
- Former registered and competent Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (1998–2014) and holder of a Professional Certificate from NIOSH.
- Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Prime Minister’s Hibiscus Award and Lead Auditor for the MSOSH OSH Awards.
- Brings over 18 years of OSH experience, including the development of Emergency Response Plans for SMEs and major hazard facilities such as Chemquest Ancom Terminal, West Port, Klang.
- Expert in the implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems, as well as workplace hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Conducts impactful, bilingual OSH training sessions focused on Safe Handling of Chemicals, Fire Incident Response, Emergency Preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
