FMM was honoured to participate in EXIM Bank’s knowledge sharing session titled “Reflect and Realign: What’s Next in 2026?” held on November 19, 2025 at EXIM Bank, Kuala Lumpur. FMM was represented by FMM Deputy President, Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok, who delivered a presentation on “Budget 2026: The FMM Perspective”, providing key insights on the manufacturing sector’s outlook as Malaysia prepares for 2026/2027 amid evolving global trade dynamics and geopolitical shifts.
Mr Jacob shared FMM’s perspective on Budget 2026. He emphasised the need for greater cost relief and targeted incentives for MSMEs, stronger trade integrity amid global tariff risks, and wider support for digital and green transformation, including higher tax deductions for AI-related training. He also noted that manufacturing is expected to grow around 4%, led by electronics and semiconductors, with key priorities focused on high-value production, talent development, supply chain resilience and managing rising costs.
