FMM President, Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai led a vital consultation with the European Union (EU) Chief Negotiator, Mr. Hiddo Houben (DG TRADE), on November 14, 2025 to focus on the essential priorities for the resumed Malaysia-EU Free Trade Agreement (MEUFTA)negotiations.
The meeting was joined by Datuk Noraini Soltan (Vice-President), Dato’ Gan Tack Kong (Vice-President), Dr Helena Eian Yuet Lan (Chair, FMM Selangor and KL Branch), Datuk Dr Yeoh Oon Tean (CEO), Dr Shankaran Nambiar (Director, FMM Research), and Mr Goh Chiang Fein (CEO, GS1 Malaysia).
Representing the EU were Mr Hiddo Houben (Chief Negotiator), Mr Denis Baresch (Head of Trade Section), Mr Pekka Penttila (Trade Section), and Sharvin Vatthumalai (Trainee, Trade Section).
FMM conveyed the Malaysian manufacturing sector’s essential priorities for a commercially viable FTA.
