FMM in collaboration with MIER is conducting its sixth Business Conditions Survey. The 2H2014 Survey would be tracking performance in the second half of 2014 and outlook for the next six months.

As with the past five surveys conducted since 2012, we would continue to track the performance of the FMM – MIER Business Conditions Index (FMM – MIER BCI), covering members’ perception of their current and expected levels of general business activity, local and export sales, production volume, capacity utilisation, capital investment, employment and cost of production.

Topical issues are on the Goods and Services Tax, ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), energy prices, crime in Malaysia, access to credit and ethical business practices.

FMM aims to surpass the number of responses collected in the past surveys which averaged around 375 responses. We therefore seek members’ continued support and participation to ensure that the BCI is a REPRESENTATIVE and ACCURATE index of manufacturing business trends.
