Courtesy Visit to MITI Johor - October 7, 2025

The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Johor, led by Mr. Saw Seong Ho, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Johor. The session was officiated by YBrs. Puan Marhani Md Jelani, who welcomed the delegation and introduced key officers from MITI CO, NPCO, and Cost Analysis units.

During the discussion, FMM Johor raised several important issues concerning manpower shortages, SME financing and automation incentives, and delays in the Certificate of Origin (CO/PCO) approvals. MITI shared updates on ongoing initiatives under the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP), such as the New Investment Incentive Framework (NIIF) and the Cost of Investment Fund (COSIF), aimed at supporting local manufacturers.

The meeting also highlighted MITI’s proposal for FMM to assign a trained officer to assist with CO/PCO application processes and clarified updates on the implementation of the Malaysia–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (MY–UAE CEPA), effective October 1, 2025.

The engagement strengthened collaboration between MITI and FMM Johor to ensure smoother processes and better support for Johor’s manufacturing community.
