August 29, 2025 - FMM Penang celebrated its 56th Anniversary Dinner – Malam Merdeka at St. Giles Wembley Hotel, led by Dato’ Seri Lee Teong Li (Chairman, FMM Penang) together with Dato’ Hun Keng Kuan (Organising Chairman).

The event was graced by Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Ramli bin Ngah Talib, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, YB Tuan Steven Sim, Minister of Human Resources, and Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai, President of FMM.

With over 700 guests from the business community, industry, and government, the dinner highlighted FMM Penang’s role as the trusted voice of manufacturers while celebrating Malaysia’s unity and independence.

YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang emphasised that Penang will continue strengthening its manufacturing ecosystem, with ambitions to position the state as a leading green manufacturing hub in the region. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure, improve the ease of doing business, and maintain Penang’s competitiveness as an attractive, liveable state. Additionally, he noted that the state government is considering the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) University on the reclaimed Silicon Island.
