It is hereby informed that the Sabah State Water Department will be conducting an inspection operation on water pump installations across all districts. The installation of water pumps that do not comply with regulations is an offence under Section 56 of the Sabah Water Supply Enactment 2003. If found guilty, offenders may be fined up to fifty thousand Ringgit (RM50,000.00) or imprisoned for a period not exceeding six(6) months, or both. In this regard, members are advised to take the necessary actions to comply with the regulations to avoid having their water pumps confiscated after one (1) month from the date this notice is issued.

Any user who changes, causes, or permits any piping system to be changed in a way that allows them to obtain more water than allowed under the regulations made under this Enactment commits an offence and, upon conviction, may be fined up to fifty thousand Ringgit (RM50,000.00) or imprisoned for a term not exceeding six (6) months,or both.
