Malaysia’s evolving legal landscape has redefined how organisations must address workplace bullying, harassment and psychological harm. The recent amendments to the Employment Act 1955, Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022 and the introduction of the Code of Practice on Preventing and Eliminating Workplace Bullying (DOSH, 2023) signify a shift from mere awareness to legal accountability. This one-day intensive programme provides participants with an in-depth understanding of criminal and civil liabilities, employer obligations and preventive mechanisms. Through legal briefings, real cases and policy-building exercises, participants will learn how to align their workplace practices with Malaysia’s new legal expectations and foster a culture of dignity and respect.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define and identify workplace bullying and harassment under Malaysian law.
- Understand the criminal and employment law implications of workplace bullying.
- Understanding implications of sexual harassment.
- Recognise employer and employee responsibilities under recent legislative amendments.
- Develop legally compliant anti-bullying policies and reporting systems.
- Manage complaints, investigations and disciplinary actions in line with due process.
